My Account isn’t setup!

I can’t login!

Please try your username, not your email, and make sure you clicked on your activation link that’s sent to your email.
Google Chromebooks and some browsers keep automatically filling in your email, so make sure that’s not happening.

I can’t install Application XYZ!

Note that, Kodingen just copies the files of any given application, and can run only certain subset of PHP,Ruby,Perl,Python. From our application store, you can even click install a Linux Source, but that doesn’t mean you can run it. Rule of thumb is, if you need to touch shell, you’ve reached the limits of current Kodingen.

When we get out of beta, this will change. You will be able to run your own stack, or those apps will be installed with their server backend. Then you can go ahead and hack C and compile it as you like. For now, you can install Drupal, WordPress, Zend, Joomla, CakePHP, Kohana or hundreds of others that work.

Can I check out from Github ?

Yes you can. Right click on your filetree, select “Download from Internet”, and copy the zip file address, download it and unzip it. But you can’t commit back just yet. We know this sucks, but we can’t give you Git UI or servers while we are in Beta.

Can I point my own domain here?

Yes, but only if we like you :) That means, if you’re doing nice stuff just shoot us an email, let us know what you’re up to, you will be granted one.

My FTP doesn’t work!

Well, it’s not us. If your FTP doesn’t work well, too slow (from US), or drops the connection we can’t really help. There are more than 5000 FTPs connected properly and being used every day. Check the shell messages, it’ll show you what’s up with your FTP.

This is awesome! How can I help?

Do you like to create some artwork for us ? Or create screencasts for different apps ? It’s hard for us to get you to code for us, but you’re welcome to offer help.

I want to delete my account! Wth is the link?

Be assured that sh*tty behaviour is not our decision nor intention.. It’s an unfortunate bug on wordpress core, we fixed it several times but that menu item keeps on disappearing on each update. We’re very sorry about that. As you know, we’re releasing a new version, we gave up on fixing this long time ago, and new version will not only delete your account, it will nuke it.

We respect your privacy, and your right to leave this platform any moment. Until this is fixed, please send us a support ticket, we will remove you manually.

When are you launching the new version?

We are now 8 people working on this, please believe when we say; this was hell of a work. And it’s still in progress. When we’re ready you’ll know what we mean. We think what we currently provide is awesome and is quite useful to many folks out there… So please be a bit more patient, it’s coming along.
